The 5k fun run event at Blythe Park in Bothell, WA was a success on November 4th, 2013. We raised almost $11,000 for the Warwick Family and over $1,000 with 100% match to $2,000 for braintumor.org.
Krystal Warwick passed from her brain tumor in her sleep on November 19th, 2013 and the memorial service was held on November 30th, 2013. Credit card donations are now closed, but if you'd like to still help monetarily or otherwise please
contact Tommy Warwick.
Feel free to read below for more about her story and the fundraiser which took place.
Krystal Warwick is a beautiful mother of 3 children. She is a bold and courageous woman, the type of woman that was excited for childbirth because it empowered her. She is hilarious and she doesn’t even try to be. Even in her current difficult situation she is making people laugh daily. Her faith in Jesus is incredibly strong. Through tears she would tell me that she is devastated to leave her family but so excited to meet Jesus. It is truly a gift to know her and love her. Here’s a little about Krystal’s story.
Feburary 25th 2011 shortly after her 27th birthday and 10 days after delivering her beautiful daughter she started seizing at her home. She was taken to Harborview hospital and diagnosed with a rare tumor condition called oligoastrocytoma. Since then she has gone through multiple rounds of surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. July 2nd 2013, an MRI revealed a new tumor located on her brainstem. July 8th, she lost peripheral vision on her right eye and ability to use the right side of her body. September 2013 her doctors said that there were no to little available treatments left and she was put on hospice care. Krystal’s battle with these tumors has been sudden and much faster than her doctors have anticipated considering how young and strong she is. This 5 K is an opportunity for people all around her to take action in showing her their support and stand beside her in this battle. Please share Krystal’s story and even if you can’t run or walk, take a moment to donate.
100% of the donations from the charity run (minus credit card fees and t-shirt cost) are going directly to the Warwick family and optionally an elected % to braintumor.org. Funds are needed to provide long term childcare for 3 children, medical expenses for Krystal, and home hospice health care for Krystal.
